Position Summary:
The Supervisor, Family Experience is responsible for the non-clinical family experience at ErinoakKids, overseeing the daily operations of key client family-facing spaces, including the on-site café, Family Resource Centre, and reception services. This role includes accountability/responsibility for site tasks related to the client family and visitor experience, such as site tours and community space rentals.
Reporting to the Manager, Family and Community Engagement, the Supervisor, Family Experience will collaborate with Clinical Operations Managers, program leads and corporate teams such as Communications, Development, Facilities, Decision Support and Digital Health to ensure that families feel supported from the moment they enter ErinoakKids, managing staff, operations and services that support the family experience outside of clinical care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and oversee operations for the Family Experience team (Reception, the Family Resource Centre and Erin's café).
- Manage reception, family resource centre and Erin’s scheduling for daytime, evening and Saturday service where applicable, ensuring coverage during open hours.
- Address feedback, provide solutions and identify opportunities to improve the non-clinical family and visitor experience of ErinoakKids.
- Oversee inventory and vendor relationships for your site.
- Support revenue tracking, budgeting, and menu planning in collaboration with internal and external partners, to meet the unique needs of your site.
- Align reception and Family Resource Centre scripts, signage and material at your site with organizational brand and inclusive language guidelines.
- Welcome and support community partners/stakeholders and visitors to ErinoakKids.
- Integrate the Family Experience team into ErinoakKids, aligned to the Strategic Priorities of the organization.
- Communicate objectives, monitor and evaluate progress, report on issues, highlight successes.
- Active member of Health and Safety Committee and Infection Control committee.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Must have a College Diploma or Undergraduate Degree in a relevant field and/or five years equivalent combination of education, training and experience in customer service, family or community engagement, health, business management or related field.
- Experience in the child and family, community or health care sector.
- Proven track record of success in a family/community engagement and/or customer service leadership role, with a minimum of 5 years of experience managing and leading people at ErinoakKids.
- Exceptional time management and problem-solving skills to perform tasks with minimal supervision and within required deadlines.
- Experience with planning and budgeting staff coverage for customer/client facing roles.
- Well-developed analytical, planning and problem-solving skills.
- Superior communication (oral and written) and presentation skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and exceptional customer service skills.
- Bilingualism in English and any secondary language is an asset.
- Knowledgeable of Health & Safety legislation, H&S certification preferred.
- Acquire and maintain First Aid & CPR certification.
- Experience in the food and beverage sector (in addition to the sectors named above) would be an asset.
- Ontario Food Handler’s Certification (must be within 5 years) – obtained or willing to obtain.
