Development Summer Student

Work Arrangement: Mon- Fri 2-3 days onsite, 2-3 days remote

Compensation Range: $19.49 - $22.94/ hour
ErinoakKids is currently seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Summer Student to join the Development team. Reporting to the Manager, Development, the Summer Student will help achieve the goals and objectives of the organization by supporting the Marketplace on Main Street event, taking place in November 2025. This role will also assist with other projects as needed. The Summer Student will contact existing donors and develop new opportunities with potential relationships. They will serve as an ambassador for all external facing events, and opportunities.
These positions will be co-sponsored by Service Canada and is part of the summer employment initiative known as the 2026 Canada Summer Jobs. Key Responsibilities:
Event Planning:
- Create plans for existing sponsors, donors and attendees to engage and follow up with all.
- Support all the coordination and planning for Market Place on Main Street, the ErinoakKids Signature event.
- Develop community relationships and outreach initiatives as it relates to development and Marketplace on Main Street.
- Visit vendors and potential vendors, and sponsors, as part of the planning and research.
- Engage through in person, phone calls and emails with prospective companies and potential sponsors.
- Support core marketing materials and sponsorship package for Marketplace on Main Street.
- Participate in the development of strategies for ErinoakKids, to meet the evolving needs of funders and stakeholders (i.e., corporate volunteer program).
- Participate as an active and collaborative member of the Development Team.
- Help coordinate Impact reports to internal and external stakeholders.
- Ensure timely thank you messaging goes to partners and donors.
- Support the Communications team when required.
- Other administrative duties as required by the team.
- Post-secondary level education preferably in the field relevant to fundraising, communications, public relations, marketing; or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
- Demonstrated experience in developing and maintaining partnerships. Strong ability to network.
- Enthusiastic, positive, solutions-focused with a ‘can do’ attitude, strong collaborator, and relationship builder.
- Flexibility and the ability to deal with competing priorities.
- Strong writing skills, with the ability to express ideas clearly and logically.
- Strong attention to detail, good organizational skills, and the capacity to handle multiple projects and priorities in a professional and timely manner.
- Demonstrated ability to think strategically and act proactively when faced with challenges and issues.
- Self-starter, comfortable with working remotely.
- Experience in developing and editing communication collateral such as presentations, flyers, handouts, newsletters and social media posts.
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft 365, knowledge of the Raiser’s Edge CMS platform, Canva and Google Analytics is an asset.
- Demonstrates discretion, confidentiality, sound judgment and sensitivity in dealing with internal/external communities.
