Position Summary:
The Manager, Analytics & Information Systems provides operational leadership across the organization's analytics, reporting, digital health, and clinical information systems teams. This role is responsible for the consistent delivery of high-quality analytics and information system solutions that support clinical care, operational and strategic decision-making, and organizational performance.
The Manager provides day-to-day leadership and guidance to multiple supervisor-level roles, ensuring strategic alignment across teams while cultivating strong relationships with leaders throughout the organization. A key focus of this role is the optimization and enhancement of administrative and clinical information systems, including Meditech Expanse, alongside the continued advancement of enterprise analytics, Power BI, and AI-enabled solutions. The Manager collaborates closely with clinical, operational, financial, and leadership teams to ensure that systems and insights are practical, well adopted, and aligned with organizational priorities.
This role reports to the Director, Analytics, Quality & Digital Health and is part of the ErinoakKids Leadership Team.
Key Responsibilities:
People & Operational Leadership
- Provide direct leadership, coaching, and performance management to supervisor-level roles and the Data Product Manager.
- Support workload planning, prioritization, and issue resolution across teams.
- Foster a collaborative, accountable, and high-performing culture across analytics and information systems functions.
- Support recruitment, onboarding, and staff development planning.
- Maintain accountability for all organizational reporting and analytics deliverables, ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and timeliness across internal and external reporting.
- Drive the expansion and standardization of Power BI dashboards and reports across executive, leadership, and operational audiences.
- Support the development of predictive analytics, forecasting, and forward-looking insights that translate into practical, actionable guidance for leaders and teams.
- Advance self-service analytics and broader data dissemination to support informed decision-making at all levels.
- Advance AI-enabled analytics and digital health solutions in a thoughtful, value-driven manner, ensuring alignment with organizational readiness, governance, privacy, and risk considerations.
- Provide operational oversight of Meditech Expanse and associated clinical systems, supporting the expansion and optimization of functionality to improve clinical workflows, documentation quality, and user experience.
- Ensure strong alignment between clinical systems, digital health tools, and analytics platforms, and collaborate with clinical, operational, IT, and vendor partners on system enhancements and integrations.
- Build strong working relationships with clinical, operational, and leadership teams across the organization.
- Act as a trusted partner, translating complex data and system concepts into clear, accessible insights.
- Support organizational data literacy and the adoption of analytics and digital tools.
- Support prioritization and sequencing of work across teams, balancing competing demands and organizational priorities.
- Identify opportunities to streamline reporting, reduce manual effort, and improve efficiency across analytics and information systems functions.
- Monitor risks, issues, and dependencies, escalating as required.
- Understand strategic priorities and create operational plans to support achievement.
Qualifications:
Education
- Post-secondary degree in Health Informatics, Computer Science, Data Science, Business Analytics, Health Sciences, or a related field.
- A combination of relevant education and experience will be considered.
- Minimum 5–7 years of progressive experience in analytics, information systems, or health informatics, with at least 2–3 years in a leadership or management capacity.
- Demonstrated experience leading and developing multidisciplinary teams, including supervisors and technical staff.
- Experience working in a healthcare or children's services environment, with knowledge of pediatric or community health service delivery models, is preferred.
- Proven track record of delivering enterprise analytics solutions, including dashboards, reports, and data products.
- Experience with Meditech Expanse or similar clinical information systems is a strong asset.
- Hands-on experience with Power BI and the broader Microsoft analytics ecosystem, including Microsoft 365 Copilot or other enterprise AI tools is preferred.
- Experience with predictive analytics, machine learning applications, and automated solutions in an organizational context.
- Experience supporting or leading digital health strategy or transformation initiatives.
- Experience managing complex projects and competing priorities across multiple teams.
- Strong knowledge of data governance, data quality, and reporting best practices.
- Proficiency in Power BI; familiarity with SQL, data warehousing, or related tools is an asset.
- Understanding of clinical workflows, electronic medical records, and digital health systems.
- Knowledge of privacy legislation and compliance frameworks relevant to healthcare (e.g., PHIPA).
- Familiarity with AI governance, responsible AI principles, and emerging digital health trends.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and develop teams in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
- Strong relationship-building and communication skills with the ability to engage and influence clinical, operational, and executive stakeholders.
- Ability to translate complex technical and data concepts into clear, accessible language for non-technical audiences.
- Collaborative, solutions-oriented approach with a commitment to continuous improvement.
- Comfortable navigating ambiguity and driving progress in areas of organizational change, with experience in change management related to technology adoption and digital transformation.
